Refresh your skin and combat cellulite with PelleFirm® Skin Tightening.
While no one may want to admit it cellulite happens to more people than you might think. In fact, it’s believed that about 90 percent of women have it to some degree. If you are looking for a way to hide cellulite then it’s time to talk to your Brookline dermatologist, Dr. Alan Rockoff about our new PelleFirm® System.
What is the PelleFirm® System?
This painless, non-invasive cosmetic treatment is FDA-approved to reduce the appearance of cellulite, as well as smooth and tighten the skin to also reduce the look of wrinkles.
How does PelleFirm® work?
PelleFirm uses two handheld devices that heat up the tissue within certain regions of the body to stimulate the production of collagen, which increases the elasticity and tightness of the skin.
How many sessions will I need?
This treatment does not deliver high radiofrequency levels to the body, so this isn’t a one-time treatment. This lower level of treatment allows your Brookline dermatologist to treat your skin without discomfort. The most you will feel is a warming sensation during your session.
Many patients require between four to six treatments; however, you will start to notice changes in the tone and firmness of your skin almost immediately. One session only takes about 30 minutes to complete and patients can return to their regular activities after treatment.
Who should consider getting PelleFirm®?
For patients experiencing sagging skin anywhere on their body including their thighs, arms or abdomen, the PelleFirm® System can help to re-contour and tighten the skin in these areas. This treatment is particularly ideal for those between the ages of 30 to 65 years old. It’s also great for reviving skin post-pregnancy and for treating sagging, loose skin after liposuction.
If you want to reduce the look of cellulite and increase skin firmness, then it’s time to talk to your Brookline dermatologist about whether PelleFirm® is right for you.
How long will my results last?
After getting PelleFirm, you will continue to see an improvement in your skin’s appearance for up to six months after treatment. This is due to the increase in collagen production.
Are you ready for bathing suit season? If cellulite has you scared to bare all then it’s time to talk to your Brookline dermatologist about whether the Pellefirm® System is right for you. Schedule an appointment with The Rockoff Center for Dermatology Laser & Skin Surgery.
If you’re ready to get rid of that embarrassing tattoo then it’s time to see your Andover dermatologist.
Tattoos have become a popular way to express oneself, especially over the last couple of decades. According to one poll, one out of every five adults has at least one tattoo. While people continue to get tattoos, many still have to cover them up due to their career, or because they’ve simply outgrown the design. If you have a tattoo that you’re considering getting rid of, then it’s time to find out how your Andover dermatologist Dr. Alan Rockoff can help.
How Laser Hair Removal Works
This high-intensity dermatological laser works by targeting and breaking up the pigments found in your tattoo. Since black tattoos are able to absorb the laser best, they are the easiest tattoos to treat; however, colored tattoos can also be treated using other specialized lasers that target specific colored pigments.
Considering Laser Tattoo Removal
Past treatment options for removing tattoos weren’t always ideal. Sometimes the scar left behind after tattoo surgery was often more unattractive and noticeable than the actual tattoo. Luckily, technology has come a long way, and your Andover dermatologist is now able to treat tattoos effectively with laser therapy. If you have a tattoo that hasn’t responded to other removal treatments, then you may want to consider laser tattoo removal.
Laser Tattoo Removal Process
The number of laser treatments you require will depend on the color and size of your tattoo. Some patients will only need two to four visits, while others may need up to 10. To get an idea of your length of treatment, you should schedule a consultation with your Andover dermatologist, who can examine your tattoo and give you an idea of how many therapy sessions you’ll require. The depth of the tattoo and the color of a patient’s skin are other factors that will affect your tattoo removal.
Protective eyewear will be placed over your eyes prior to treatment. Then we will test the laser on your skin before treatment to make sure there are no negative reactions to the treatment. Then we will place a handheld laser over your tattoo. Some patients liken the sensation to a rubber band snapping against their skin.
Once your session is over, we will apply ice packs over the removal site. While side effects of treatment are minimal, you may experience some tenderness, redness or swelling after your session.
Are you ready to part ways with your tattoo? If so, then find out if laser tattoo removal is right for you. Schedule a consultation with your Andover dermatologist at The Rockoff Center for Dermatology Laser & Skin Surgery.
