Are you tired of “looking tired”? Droopy, sagging, eyelid skin and puffy bags around the eyes can make a person appear tired even when they feel rested and energetic. An eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) can restore the youthful appearance to the eyes and may also improve their function. Incisions are discreetly placed in the upper eyelid crease and under the lower lid lash line.
Eyelid surgery may be performed in the office under local anesthesia or at one of several Boston area hospitals. Sutures are usually removed in 5-7 days and swelling may last 1-2 weeks. Patients may wear contact lenses after a week.
Browlift surgery restores the eyebrows to their natural positions above the eyes. Occasionally, tired appearing eyes may be caused by sagging eyebrows and not by loose upper eyelid skin. When the eyebrows are restored to their natural position, the eyes will have a fresher and “more awake” appearance. Browlift surgery is performed through a minimally invasive technique. Tiny incisions are made in the scalp and endoscopic cameras are used. This minimally invasive procedure avoids the long incision across the scalp associated with the traditional coronal technique.
